Delhi Election Update: AAP's Avadh Ojha Lags in Patparganj as BJP Strengthens
Avadh Ojha, a civil services exam tutor and notable figure in AAP, is currently lagging in the Patparganj constituency during the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections.

Synopsis

In the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections, Avadh Ojha of AAP is falling behind BJP's Ravinder Negi in the Patparganj constituency, raising questions about AAP's stronghold. While Congress shows signs of resurgence, the final results will determine the future of Delhi's political landscape.

Key Takeaways

  • Avadh Ojha is trailing in Patparganj.
  • BJP's Ravinder Negi leads early trends.
  • Congress's Anil Chaudhary is in third place.
  • AAP's past victories in 2015 and 2020 are under threat.
  • Exit polls suggest a potential BJP comeback.

New Delhi, Feb 8 (NationPress) Avadh Ojha, a prominent civil services exam tutor and a rising star in the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), is currently positioned behind in the Patparganj constituency during the 2025 Delhi Assembly election.

This election saw him replace senior AAP figure Manish Sisodia, who had previously secured this seat in 2013, 2015, and 2020 but was moved to Jungpura for this term.

Ojha finds himself trailing behind BJP candidate Ravinder Negi, with Congress' Anil Chaudhary in third position.

The Patparganj area was largely viewed as an AAP stronghold, particularly noted for its connection to Delhi’s education reforms, a point stressed by Manish Sisodia. Nevertheless, preliminary results suggest a challenging fight for the ruling party.

After securing an overwhelming victory with 67 seats in 2015 and 62 in 2020, the AAP is encountering difficulties in this election. In contrast, the Congress party, which did not gain any seats in the previous two elections, appears to be making a modest resurgence, leading in at least one constituency.

The polling for the Delhi elections took place on Wednesday, February 5, with exit polls indicating a notable lead for the BJP. Should these forecasts prove accurate, it would signify the party’s return to power in Delhi after over twenty years.

However, the AAP has dismissed the exit poll forecasts, expressing confidence in securing a third consecutive term in government. Party leader Gopal Rai countered these predictions by claiming that the AAP anticipates winning at least 50 seats.

With the counting underway, all attention is focused on the final results, which will reveal whether the AAP maintains its hold on power or if the BJP orchestrates a historic comeback in Delhi's political landscape. Early trends currently show the BJP in a leading position.
